Camping is a time-honored tradition in America, and for good reason. It’s a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the great outdoors. But finding the right campground can be a daunting task, with so many options available. That’s why we wanted to share our experience at Camp Margaritaville in Auburndale, FL, in the hope that it might help others find the perfect spot for their next camping adventure.
Located in central Florida, Camp Margaritaville is a large campground that offers a family-oriented, laid-back feel. Despite its large size, the atmosphere is surprisingly quiet and relaxed, making it the perfect place to unwind and disconnect from the stress of everyday life.
One of the things that impressed us the most about this campground was how clean and well-maintained it was. It’s worth noting that Camp Margaritaville is more than just your typical campground. It’s a resort that offers a wide range of amenities and activities to keep everyone entertained. The pools, waterslide, and splashpad kept the kids entertained for hours, while we enjoyed some mango daiquiris at the bar. There were also two playgrounds, kids’ activities on the green every day, and even mini-golf! We loved the cafe by the main pool – the food was delicious, especially the pulled pork nachos. And those souvenir cups with free refills? Genius!
Another thing we loved was how spacious the campsites were. Unlike some other campgrounds where you’re practically on top of your neighbors, each site at Camp Margaritaville had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your own space. It made for a much more peaceful and relaxing experience overall. One thing to note is that depending on where your site is located within the park, you may want to rent a golf cart to be closer to the amenities. This was particularly true for us, as we had young kids who didn’t want to walk too far to get to the playgrounds and pools. But once we had the golf cart, it made getting around the campground a breeze.
Our experience at Camp Margaritaville in Auburndale, FL was fantastic. It’s a great spot for families who want a relaxed, low-key camping experience with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. The cleanliness and attention to detail were impressive, and the variety of amenities and activities meant that there was something for everyone. While there’s not much to do outside of the campground, it’s only an hour away from both Orlando and Tampa, so it’s a great base for day trips. But honestly, with so much to do on-site, we could have just stayed put and still had a blast. We’re already looking forward to our next visit, and we’re eager to check out their other campground location in Pigeon Forge, TN. If you’re looking for a great place to camp in central Florida, we highly recommend giving Camp Margaritaville a try.
