Celebrating Halloween at the Campground

Now more then ever we seek the comforts of tradition. One of those traditions is celebrating Halloween.  Our family has always enjoyed fall camping and joining in on the Halloween events at the campground make it even more fun. .We were lucky enough to have our seasonal campground Alpine Lake Resort, our kids we able to dress up and enjoy trick-or-treating and a haunted golf ride trail, memories were made that will last a lifetime and we will now make Halloween at the campground of of our fall traditions.

Many campgrounds throughout the US are still hosting their Halloween events with some restrictions in place. Check out our list of campgrounds and book a last minute getaway.


Tucsan/Lazydays KOA

The last two weekends in October, this KOA hosts a Spook-taular Halloween event.  Have fun decorating your site, participating in socially distant trick-or-treating, and outdoor Halloween themed movies.  To find Halloween events at a KOA closest to you, check out this list here.


Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park

Located in the Atlanta area, this Jellystone Park has Halloween weekends all month all long in October and the 1st weekend in November.  Kids can enjoy Halloween crafts, pumpkin decorating, costume contests, and trick or treating. Be sure to bring plenty of candy to share with trick or treaters that come to your site. Normandy Farms

Normandy Farms, located in Foxboro. MA is celebrating Halloween for 3 weekends in October. Activities will include a haunted walk, pumpkin carving contest, mobile dance party, site decorating, Halloween arts & crafts and more! In addition to the Halloween activities,


Timber Ridge Resort

Located in Traverse City, this campground has one Halloween weekend left this month.  Participate in a glow trick or treat parade, crafts, and a flashlight candy hunt.  Try to snag a last minute reservation if you can.

New York

Old Forge Camping Resort

Old Forge Camping Resort has Halloween weekends all month long in October.  Each weekend there will be festive events which will include trick or treating, pumpkin carving and costume contests. Other fun activities will include tye dying, glitter tattoos and more. Old Forge has full hook-up sites and cabins available.


Hersheypark Camping Resort

Hershey is the perfect place to enjoy the treats that Halloween brings.  The campground offers lots of fall fun; pumpkin and site decorating contests, crafts, and a trick or treat trail.  If you want to experience adventure outside of the campground, visit Hersheypark in the Dark coasters and family friendly rides, delicious fall treats, and the new Chocolatetown.
