Disney’s Fort Wilderness

Location: Orlando, FL

What We Love:  Disney’s Fort Wilderness is one of the most highly rated campgrounds with large sites, extreme cleanliness and amazing Disney customer service.  There is no shortage of Christmas spirit at the Fort Wilderness Campground.  The campground displays amazing holiday decorations and in addition the campers staying at the resort also decorate their sites.   You will find many sites with truly unique light displays and even golf carts decorated in a Christmas theme.

Holiday Activities:  In addition to the amazing decorations you will also find Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides on site.  Nearby is Disney’s Magic Kingdom which you can visit for thrilling rides, Christmas photo ops, Christmas snacks, and the Jingle Cruise.

River Plantation Campground

Location: Sevierville, TN

What We Love:  This campground is close to all of the action in Pigeon Forge and a short distance to the Smoky Mountain National Park.  The campground boasts large sites, fun family friendly activities and large playground area.

Holiday Activities:  Visit Dollywood to view over 5 million glistening lights, enjoy Christmas shows, and seasonal shopping.  Grab a cup of hot cocoa and view the holiday lights in Gatlinburg at the Skylift Park.

Crystal River KOA

Location: Carbondale, Colorado

What We Love:  Amazing mountain views and only 35 miles from Aspen.  Onsite hiking and biking trails which can lead you to your next adventure. Short drive to the Iron Mountain or Glenwood Hot Springs.

Holiday Activities:  Drive to nearby Aspen for a snowy holiday and skiing.  The town hosts a 12 Days of Aspen event at the end of December.  There are many free activities offered each day of the event.  Activities include visits with Santa and his reindeer,  carolers, ice skating, live music, and even gift making events.  At night time, be mesmerized gorgeous holiday decor like festive wreaths and twinkling lights.

Old Forge Camping Resort

Location: Old Forge, NY

What We Love:  There are few campgrounds open in the Adirondacks during the winter months and this one has access to all of the activities you would expect in a winter wonderland – snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing, just to name a few.

Holiday Activities:  Take a day trip to visit Santa’s Workshop, a magical village where you can visit Santa and his reindeer, partake in Christmas crafts and other Christmas shows & attractions.  Nearby Santa’s workshop is the town of Lake Placid where you can complete your perfect Christmas celebration with pickup hockey games, skating, dog sledding and sleigh rides.  Wander around the village to take in the lights and finish your Christmas shopping.

Sentinel Peak RV Park

Location: Tucson, AZ

Why We Love It:  Location, location, location.  This is the only RV Park located in downtown Tucson.

Holiday Activities:  Experience Zoo lights at Reid Park Zoo.  The Zoo transforms into a world of glittering lights and holiday cheer. Take a memorable holiday photo at the festive displays and stroll around the zoo sipping on hot cocoa and seeing the animals.  Also in Tuscan are several live nativity scenes and neighborhood light displays.

Hershey Park Camping Resort

Location:  Hersey, PA

Why We Love It:  It can be difficult to find a campground that is open in the Northeast and this one does not disappoint.  Since it is affiliated with Hershey you get great discounts and benefits at the park.

Holiday Activities: The campground features onsite Christmas activities such as crafts and coloring contests. Visit Hershey Park Christmas Candyland.  There you can meet with Santa and his reindeer, explore Chocolate town, and ride thrilling Christmas themed rides.
